Meet the breeder

Daniel is a passionate Clivia breeder and judge. In 2004, he grew his first Clivia from seed. He is a long-standing member of the Northern Clivia Club (Gauteng) and, since around 2009, he has been involved in judging. He worked his way up to become Chairman of the Judges Committee of the Northern Clivia Club (Gauteng), and has travelled across South Africa to expand his Clivia knowledge. Two decades and thousands of selectively bred Clivias later, he has shored up a wealth of high-class plants with genetics acquired from leading world breeders.

He does not do it alone: at the Clivia shows, you will find Daniel and his daughter side by side.

The register

Every plant offered here comes from the breeder's own register, kept across his tunnels and greenhouses. The register records each plant in the vocabulary of the Clivia Society: species, colour class, flower shape, variegation and maturity. This platform preserves that record alongside the plants it sells.

We offer

  • Mature plants (graded by leaf count)
  • Offsets (basal shoot from a parent plant that grows into an identical clone of the parent)
  • Seedlings (specifically cross-bred plants)
  • Seeds (subject to seasonal availability)

For now, only mature plants are for sale.
